Patricia Ricard will preside the opening of the Environment and Biodiversity programme alongside Rym Benzina, Director of the <i>Forum Mondial de la Mer-Bizert<\/i>e. On February 8th, she will take part in the Emerging Mediterranean plenary session entitled \u00ab\u00a0From Greentech <\/span><span class=\"s2\">to <\/span><span class=\"s1\">e-Health: how Mediterranean Change Makers deploy the new technologies at the service of the SDGs\u00a0\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Forum, open to the public, will bring together some 500 participants from throughout the Mediterranean region to focus on tangible solutions to meet the shared challenges facing us. The aim is to assemble<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s2\">\u00ab\u00a0all the civil societies of the Mediterranean basin\u00a0\u00bb &#8211; companies, universities and research centres, regions and diasporas, and in particular young people &#8211; to address \u00ab\u00a0cultural, entrepreneurial and social issues\u00a0\u00bb. <\/span><span class=\"s1\">It is a direct follow-up to the <\/span><span class=\"s2\">\u00ab\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">Marseille Commitments\u00a0\u00bb <\/span><span class=\"s2\">adopted in <\/span><span class=\"s1\">2019 at the Summit of the Two Shores.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Six main themes in focus<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The discussions will focus on 6 main themes: Environment, biodiversity and sustainable development; Education, training, mobility; Inclusion and solidarit<\/span><span class=\"s2\">y<\/span><span class=\"s1\">; Employment, innovation and partnerships; Culture and heritage; Regions in the face of climate change.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In parallel, a Project Village, conceived as a place of exchange, discovery and networking, will showcase projects, videos, tools and publications. The aim is to develop business opportunities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">An Appeal for the Mediterranean<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A consultation process with two hundred under 40s from around twenty countries throughout the Mediterranean region was launched several months ago. The goal is to generate \u00ab\u00a0realisable proposals to construct a more sustainable, more prosperous and more inclusive Mediterranean by 2030\u00a0\u00bb.
